Congrats to Anthony Ford, Solomon Dobbs, Treveon McCurty, Miles Richardson, Connor Mason, and Christoper McCrary! These young men of Drew Charter High School’s (Atlanta, GA) golf team just made history!
Not only are they the first Atlanta Public School to capture the state title, but they’re also like the first all-black team and coaching staff to earn top honors in the state of Georgia! Drew Charter defeated the two-time defending champions by 15 strokes!!
Talk about Black Excellence!
Their win was so exceptional that they caught the attention of PGA Tour veteran Harold Varner, who “tweeted to congratulate the team and call attention to their accomplishment. In addition, Varner announced a donation of $5,000 to the school’s golf program.”
Salute to these young men, their coaches, and their families! This is just the beginning!
